Opportunities

The Opportunity Board: how businesses are scored and distributed, save vs unlock, exclusivity windows, and how to work an opportunity.

What is the Opportunity Board?

The Opportunity Board (/app/opportunities) shows businesses that GeoScript has identified as having observable AI-visibility gaps and that fit your agency's market focus. Opportunities are distributed to your workspace — either exclusively (only your agency sees them for a window) or as shared distribution (visible to multiple agencies simultaneously).

How opportunities work

Each opportunity card shows:

  • Business name and domain — the prospect.
  • Opportunity Score — a ranked, deterministic score summarizing the AI-visibility gap and pursuit fit. Scores are calculated using a locked, versioned formula. See the Opportunity Score methodology page for the full breakdown.
  • Confidence — how much evidence backs the score. Low-evidence scores are penalized rather than hidden.
  • Exclusivity badge — EXCLUSIVE or Shared. Exclusive opportunities are distributed only to your agency for a defined window (14 days). Shared opportunities are visible to multiple agencies.

Opportunities that are "released" (the window has passed or you have explicitly removed them) do not appear in your board.

Save vs unlock

Save to pipeline moves an opportunity into your CRM at the SAVED stage. This does not claim the opportunity or block other agencies from it in the shared pool. It simply adds the business to your pipeline so you can track it.

Unlock (available for qualifying opportunities) gives your agency access to deeper prospect intelligence for that business. Unlocking does not give you an exclusive client relationship — it surfaces additional signals to help you prepare a pitch.

Exclusivity (OPP_EXCLUSIVE_HELD) is a system-level state. When one agency activates a paid seat for a business, that business becomes exclusively linked to that agency and is blocked from distribution to others. You cannot manually claim exclusivity — it is enforced automatically when a seat is activated.

Working an opportunity through CRM

Once you save an opportunity, it appears in your Clients list at CRM stage SAVED. Move it through stages as you work the relationship:

SAVED → CONTACTED → REPLIED → MEETING → PROPOSAL → WON → LOST (if the deal falls through)

WON means the prospect has agreed to proceed. It does NOT mean a seat is active or billing has started. Activate the $299/month seat from the client detail page to move to a paid, monitored relationship.

Score explainability

Opportunity Scores are calculated from up to 8 documented components. Each component's contribution is stored alongside the score. When viewing an opportunity, scores are not opaque — the formula version is recorded so you can trace how the score was computed.

Full methodology: see /methodology/opportunity-score for the component definitions, weights, and honest-under-evidence behavior.

What GeoScript does not do

GeoScript does not guarantee that a high-scoring opportunity will convert to a paying client. The Opportunity Score is not a purchase-probability prediction — it is a measure of AI-visibility gap and pursuit fit.

GeoScript does not fabricate opportunity urgency. Exclusivity windows are real database-enforced states, not marketing countdowns.

GeoScript does not provide contact information for prospect businesses. Prospect intelligence (contact signals) is a planned future feature not yet available.
