What Automated Deployment does
Automated Deployment is GeoScript's delivery pipeline for optimization interventions. Every recommendation that an agency approves flows through a state machine that packages the change into a signed deployment, runs a preflight check, activates the deployment via Standard Script, runs independent verification to confirm the change landed, and retains rollback capability. No change is applied without agency approval, and every step is auditable.
How it works
The deployment state machine
Deployments move through a verified sequence of states: recommendation → intervention → signed package → risk-gated approval → preflight → deploy → verify → rollback (if needed). Each state transition is explicit. The risk gate is where the agency reviews the proposed change and approves it. Without approval, the deployment does not proceed.
Risk-gated approval
Before any change is deployed, the system evaluates a risk profile for the intervention — type of change, page affected, potential impact. Agencies see the risk assessment when they review recommendations. Only approved interventions advance to packaging and deployment. This means the agency is in control of what changes are applied to their clients' sites.
Signed package
Approved interventions are packaged into a signed manifest. The signing step cryptographically seals the instructions so they cannot be tampered with between packaging and execution. The Standard Script runtime validates the signature before applying any change.
Independent verification
After a deployment is applied, GeoScript runs an independent verification step — it fetches the page and confirms that the deployed change is actually present in the live DOM. Verification is separate from the deployment step. A deployment that passes activation but fails verification is flagged, and rollback is available.
Rollback
Every deployment retains rollback capability. If a deployed change needs to be reversed — because verification failed, because the agency requests it, or because of an unexpected outcome — the rollback removes the change from the manifest and marks the deployment as rolled back. The page returns to its pre-deployment state.
What Automated Deployment does not do
Clear boundaries increase trust. These limitations are documented explicitly, not buried in footnotes.
Automated Deployment does not apply changes without agency approval — the risk-gated approval step is mandatory.
Deployment does not guarantee AI engine visibility improvement — it applies the structural change; engine behavior is not controlled by GeoScript.
GeoScript does not deploy changes to pages that are not within the approved crawl scope.
Rollback removes GeoScript's intervention but does not restore any other changes the client made to their site independently.
Automated Deployment currently works with Standard Script only — Advanced Edge deployment is a planned future capability.
