Opportunity Score
A ranked, deterministic score summarizing the AI-visibility gap and pursuit fit of a business as an agency opportunity.
In development — not yet in beta
This capability has real engineering work underway. It is not yet available to agency partners. The description below reflects what is being built and what is true about the implementation today — not a roadmap projection.
What Opportunity Score does
The Opportunity Score is a deterministic, versioned score that quantifies how strong an agency opportunity a given business represents. It is not a purchase-probability model. It measures the observed AI visibility gap, the strength of the evidence behind that gap, and how well the business fits the agency's pursuit criteria. Each score is broken into eight named components so agencies can understand exactly why a business scored the way it did.
How it works
Eight components, deterministic formula
The scorer runs eight locked components against the available evidence for a business. Each component contributes a weighted sub-score. The components cover: AI visibility gap magnitude, evidence recency, evidence breadth across query categories, business footprint signals, and pursuit-fit indicators. The formula is versioned — when the scoring logic changes, a new version record is created rather than overwriting historical scores. This means a score from an earlier version can always be reproduced and explained.
Per-component explainability
Every score record stores the individual component scores, not just the aggregate. Agencies can see which components drove a high or low score. If a business scores well on gap magnitude but poorly on evidence recency, both facts are visible. This is intentional: GeoScript does not hide the reasoning behind a number.
Missing-evidence penalty
When evidence for a component is absent or stale, the scorer applies a missing-evidence penalty rather than treating the gap as a positive signal. A business with little observable data scores conservatively — it does not score high by default because GeoScript cannot see it clearly. This prevents the score from overstating confidence in thin evidence.
Tenant isolation on persist
Score computation and persistence are tenant-isolated. An agency's scored opportunities cannot be read by or compared to another agency's workspace. The guard runs at the service layer, not just the query layer.
Current development status
The v1 deterministic scorer shipped 2026-09-15 with eight locked components, a versioned formula, and per-component explainability. The score is considered IN_DEVELOPMENT because several input signals — notably CPC data and enrichment contactability — await real external data sources. The public methodology page is also not yet published. As those inputs land, the score will move toward Private Beta.
What Opportunity Score does not do
Clear boundaries increase trust. These limitations are documented explicitly, not buried in footnotes.
The Opportunity Score is not a purchase-probability model — it does not predict whether a prospect will become a paying client.
The score does not reflect the quality of a business's product or service — only its AI visibility position and observable footprint.
A high score does not mean an agency will win the business — it means the opportunity characteristics look strong given available evidence.
The score does not incorporate data GeoScript cannot observe — if a signal is absent, the missing-evidence penalty applies.
The Opportunity Score is not yet in public beta — it is in active development and inputs are still being validated.
