Opportunity Score

GeoScript's deterministic, versioned score ranking a business as an agency prospect based on its measurable AI-visibility gap and pursuit fit.

Definition

The Opportunity Score is GeoScript's proprietary ranked score that quantifies how worthwhile a specific business is as an agency prospect — combining its AI-visibility gap (how much room exists to improve) with pursuit fit signals (how likely the agency can win and serve the account). The score is calculated from up to 8 locked, named components using a fixed, versioned formula. Each component's contribution is stored alongside the score for explainability. Missing evidence is penalized (the score decreases when key inputs are unavailable) rather than silently assumed to be neutral. The formula version is logged with every score calculation so historical scores remain auditable.

The Opportunity Score is not a purchase-probability prediction. It is a prioritization tool for agencies surfacing which prospects are worth pursuing, in which order.

Why it matters

Agencies deal with limited time and large opportunity pools. A ranked, explainable score lets agencies focus outreach on businesses most likely to have a meaningful AI-visibility gap and to be willing to address it — rather than working an undifferentiated list. The deterministic, versioned design means score changes reflect real evidence changes, not algorithmic drift.

Example

A landscaping company in Tampa has an Opportunity Score of 74/100. Score components reveal: high AI-visibility gap (appears in 8% of relevant prompts while competitors average 31%), strong vertical fit, complete evidence base. A competing prospect scores 41/100 with a weaker visibility gap and sparse evidence (triggering the missing-evidence penalty). The agency prioritizes Tampa landscaping.

How it differs from related terms

The Opportunity Score ranks prospects for agency pursuit — it is a sales prioritization tool. AI visibility score (if one were calculated) would measure the current AI presence of a client, not the pursuit worthiness. AI share of voice is a relative competitive metric. Opportunity Score explicitly accounts for agency fit, not just AI-visibility gap alone.
