What AI Visibility Monitoring does
AI Visibility Monitoring is GeoScript's core observation engine. It runs a purpose-built prompt universe — approximately 1,100 prompts tailored to each client — against multiple AI engines on a repeating schedule. Each response is preserved as an immutable observation: the exact raw HTTP response body, the engine, the prompt, and the timestamp are all stored. These observations are the foundation that everything else in GeoScript is built on — recommendations, outcome measurement, reporting, and Ask GeoScript all depend on the integrity of what was actually recorded.
How it works
The prompt universe
Each client gets a deterministic prompt universe generated by GeoScript. The same set of prompts runs every monitoring cycle, making results comparable over time. Prompts are organized across five categories: service discovery, comparison, local, reputation, and category-level queries. Each prompt is submitted as a real API call to the engine's production endpoint — not a cached or simulated response.
Which engines are live
Three engines have real, production-grade integrations verified by live API round-trips: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), and Perplexity. The Perplexity integration uses the Agent API /v1/responses endpoint with the fast preset, delivering up to 10 native citations per response. Gemini, Google AI Overview, and Microsoft Copilot integrations are in development — no production observations exist for those engines yet. GeoScript publishes the exact engine status rather than implying uniform coverage.
Raw response preservation
GeoScript stores the raw HTTP response body before any parsing occurs. This means the observation record reflects exactly what the engine returned — not GeoScript's interpretation of it. Observations are immutable: once recorded, a raw response cannot be altered. This design ensures that historical data accurately reflects what was true at the time of observation.
CostGate: responsible API spend
Every monitoring run passes through CostGate, which enforces per-client cost budgets and prevents runaway API spend. Partial completion is supported — if a monitoring run is interrupted, completed observations are preserved and the run can be resumed. No observation data is lost due to a cost ceiling event.
What AI Visibility Monitoring does not do
Clear boundaries increase trust. These limitations are documented explicitly, not buried in footnotes.
GeoScript does not have access to any engine's internal ranking signals, training data, or model parameters.
GeoScript cannot observe how individual users interact with AI responses after they are returned — observations are API-level calls.
Individual users may receive different, personalized responses — GeoScript observations reflect a standardized API call, not a specific user session.
GeoScript does not guarantee inclusion in any AI engine — monitoring records what is, not what will be.
Gemini, Google AI Overview, and Microsoft Copilot observations are not yet live — those integrations are in development.
GeoScript does not monitor search engine rankings, paid advertising, or social media visibility.
